Personel Trainer * Fitness Instructor

Biography:

I created Hardcore Serious Fitness Inc. in 2009 with the ambition to provide clients with the knowledge and tools needed to meet their individual fitness goals. I received a BS and MS in Exercise and Sports Science from East Carolina University and have been practicing in the fitness industry since 2001. In addition to graduating with these degrees, I hold national training certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the American Council of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the Cooper Aerobics Institute for Research (CAIR). Over the last 15 years I have had the opportunity to gain experience in many areas of the health and fitness industry including public, private, and corporate venues, I was an adjunct faculty member at UNC-Charlotte where I taught various disciplines in the Department of Kinesiology, I worked as a diagnostic exercise technician dealing in cardiology, and I worked at the CDC in government and institutional research. I have actively worked with strength and conditioning in many sporting arenas and continue to work on many sports and event management projects. These opportunities have given me the tools to grow in the industry and to provide clients and members with the best possible experience.

I often get asked if I was ever in the military because of my ‘hardcore’ training style. I did grow up in a military family and while it did have some influence on my mentality, more importantly it taught me how to adapt to many situations and to improvise when necessary. After moving around most of my life and again after college, I finally settled down in Huntersville in 2007 and established Hardcore Serious Fitness in 2009.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to train a variety of clients with a variety of abilities, strengths, weaknesses, needs and goals. This has taught me the importance to train each individual to meet his/her goals while keeping my own philosophy and to show others their potential through fitness.

Bear is Proud to Teach these HardCORE Classes:
